Grand Youth Rally, One way!
In 2004, on the fringe of the Congrès mondial acadien in Nova Scotia, acadian and francophone youth gathered for the first Grand rassemblement jeunesse, an event organized by the Société Nationale de l'Acadie. Halifax hosted 250 participants, from the Atlantic provinces, Quebec, Canada and the entire planet. A glimpse of the future was presented in Nova Scotia's capital. Workshops and projects showcased a strong common identity. In 2009, the Grand rassemblement jeunesse's place was solidified in a new Acadie, during its second edition, held in the Acadian Peninsula.
The Grand rassemblement jeunesse celebrates its third anniversary during the fifth Congrès mondial acadien in Acadia of lands and forests. Pohénégamook in Temiscouata will welcome 300 to 400 youths from all over the francophone world from August 12th to August 17th 2014.
The event is a lighthouse for Acadian youth. With its three goals, this rally will facilitate the exchange of ideas, bring forward a reflexion on the future and consolidate the creation of a common identity. Through the cultural workshops, a leadership component and a window on the political universe, Acadie will come out stronger and fulfilled with this showcase on the world.
Acadie lives in the heart of the Acadian youth. The future rhymes with hope. Excitement fills the classrooms of the region's High Schools and momentum is felt in the laboratories of universities.
With this in mind, a youth tour will travel in Maine and Temiscouata. The official registration starts this fall.
The call is yours to answer. The only thing left is to visit the shores of Lac Pohénégamook in August 2014. The official youth event of the World acadian congress expects you and your dreams.
