To recognize and honor the contributions of Aboriginal people, who were fundamental to the survival of the Acadians, the World Acadian Congress 2014 has set a goal to ensure that Aboriginal people participate in the event and are well represented in all programming of the CMA 2014.

To accomplish this, an Aboriginal Subcommittee was formed, working closely with representatives from the Maliseet and Mi'kmaq territories of the Acadia of the Lands and Forests.

The Aboriginal Subcommittee is currently developing several activities and events that will add to the program during the World Acadian Congress. More to come.
